IT’S OUR FIRST ANNIVERSARY!
This is our first anniversary, and what a year it has been!
And WOW! Did we get off to a great start. Our highest point was the grand champagne opening on 5 November 2008, attended by friends and colleagues. With the ribbon cut, we were raring to go. We opened our doors to the public and it was our proudest moment. All of our clients are amazed at the set up of the Dental Spa, and impressed by the excellent service they experience when they come for their dental treatment. When we look back from day one to where we are now, it is great to see how we have grown. Our best month was June 2009, where we registered an amazing 41 new clients. Now that is an amazing achievement! Our best marketing tool has been word of mouth, so thanks to all of you for helping to spread the news about our very unique service. I know many of you have collected your bottles of wine for each referral, and for those of you who have not collected your bottles yet, please do get in touch!
Best New Practice Of The Year Award!
We were thrilled to fnd out we had been nominated for the best new practice of the year award, nationwide. You can only imagine our excitement when we found out we had actually been short-listed for the award. The Private Dentistry Awards ceremony will be hosted in November 2009, and hopefully we will come out tops!
Events:
It has just been one great event after another. We had an open evening supported by local Covent Garden businesses earlier in the year. Our most recent event was a charity auction, raising money for the House of Saint Barnabas, a charity that helps rehabilitate homeless people. After a few glasses of champagne, our guests were more than happy to bid generously. We raised £2105 which was an amazing outcome!! Everyone had a great time, and all for a great cause too.

Dr Flora’s 10 Top Tips For That Kissable Mouth Under The Mistletoe
Do
1 Brush one tooth at a time using gentle strokes in a small, circular, motion.
2 Focus on the order in which you address each tooth - a lot of people go into autopilot and don’t think about which areas they are brushing, so end up missing out whole sections.
3 Count to three on each tooth. If done properly brushing can easily take two minutes for the upper teeth and two minutes for the lower, so four minutes in total.
4 The minimum you should spend on both is two minutes.
Don’t
5 Use excessive pressure. Pressing too hard is not required as tooth brushing should be a gentle action. Going at it too hard can result in receding gums, abrasion of the enamel and sensitivity.
6 Avoid abrasive toothpastes as this can also result in damage to the teeth.
7 And don’t leave your brush on the sink top either – it’s actually one of the ‘germiest’ places in the household.
When
8 You should brush twice daily: in the morning after breakfast and in the evening before bed.
9 I would also advise a quick brush after lunch, so keeping a tooth brush at work will encourage this to become part of your routine. If you can’t brush after eating, you should rinse your mouth out thoroughly.
10 Chewing sugar-free gum is a good way to stimulate the fow of saliva and help fush away the plaque that can settle on the teeth in between meals.
